When life gets difficult, the most courageous thing we can do for ourselves, is to reach out for
help. As a counsellor I can offer a safe and non-judgmental space for you to explore your
feelings and thoughts in order to find your way forward.
I am a fully qualified integrative counsellor and I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
My experience includes working as a counsellor for the national mental health charity Mind in Cambridge and Huntingdon.
I also worked for a wonderful charity called Road Victims’ Trust where I underwent extensive training to provide support for those affected by fatal road collisions either as family members or witnesses.
I offer face-to-face counselling sessions for individuals (adults) in a comfortable room in the heart of Saffron Walden.

Helen Howett BSc (Hons). Pro Dip MNCS (Accred)
Life has its up and downs, and sometimes we all need a safe space to express ourselves and explore our feelings and moods. As a qualified accredited pluralistic creative counselling practitioner, I am uniquely equipped to help individuals with a variety of issues that may arise. My individual approach is to make a safe space to explore issues and provide a positive environment and support for taking the next steps towards a healthy mind-set.
I have a Level 5 Professional Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling and I am an accredited member of The National Counselling Society (NCS).
As well as offering one to one sessions and online counselling sessions, I offer a unique service. As part of therapy sessions, you will be offered a wellbeing box personalised to you to help you on your journey. This includes practical ways to help you in day-to-day life, empowerment tools, mind fullness and positive reinforcement activities. Each box is personalised to the individual.
Within my practise I also offer cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) for those who can benefit from this more practical and short term therapy concentrating on ways to overcome and deal with trauma or single events that have affected your life.
I believe that even a single event can change the way we behave and have a domino effect on other areas of our lives. CBT enables us to explore these events and slowly and practically overcome it, helping to improve our overall mindset and outlook on life.
I am currently offering a special price of £270 for six sessions (usually £300).
I see young people aged 12+ and adults including couples in the heart of Saffron Walden.
